Inflammation & Arthritis Relief
Studies as far back as 2012 have proven that cherry juice contains antioxidants—like anthocyanins—that are capable of reducing pain and inflammation that often accompanies osteoarthritis.
Sleep Aid
Sweet cherries that we grow here in New Zealand are a natural source of melatonin. This is what helps you get to sleep and stay to sleep—making for a good night’s rest.
Immunity Boosting
Cherries contain potent antioxidants that fight off viruses and infections—as do all fruits and vegetables. These help to boost your immune system which fights off harmful diseases and viruses.
Fat & Metabolism Regulation
Those same anthocyanins—which are also responsible for our cherries’ red colouring—have also been found to lower the development of abdominal fat and even lower the risk of metabolic syndrome.
Workout Recovery
Our juice is also perfect for post-exercise recovery as cherries have high potassium content. This mineral helps maintain blood pressure and hydration, assists in muscle recovery, regulates pH balance, among many other great benefits.
FAMILY OF POTHOLES
Not the biggest pothole in NZ but Alexander Road in Trentham has one of its round-abouts with a family of potholes on the roading making it difficult to avoid them.
The Upper Hutt City Council was quick and ridiculous to reduce the speed limit of all Alexander Road from 80kg to 50kg but not so quick to repair this multiple of potholes.
I must not hold my breath because nearly 4 years ago I held a discussion with the UHCC roading chief on the appalling state of the busy Ward Street road in Wallaceville and he agreed but asked me which would you prefer - fixing up Fergusson Drive or Ward Street as a priority. Well nothing has been done either to Fergusson Drive.
I am hoping the new Government with its plans to reverse some speed restrictions and introduce reducing speed restrictions on some roads, will prompt the UHCC to wake up their ideas of Alexander Road which in most part is non urban residential housing.
