Willowpark Road North Water shutdowns
Upcoming water shutdowns for Willowpark Road North and surrounding streets:
Wednesday 13 December, 9:00am-3:00pm
Thursday 14 December, 9:00am-3:00pm
Friday 15 December, 9:00am-3:00pm
At the above dates and times, Fulton Hogan Water on behalf of Hastings District Council will be undertaking watermain decommissioning works which will require the water supply to be shutoff.
During these times, it is recommended that you leave all cold-water taps turned-off. When the supply is restored, all taps should be run for approximately 3-5 minutes before water is used for drinking or food preparation.
If your water is milky or cloudy, fill a glass with water and leave it to stand for a few minutes. If the cloudiness clears from the bottom of the glass upwards it shows that the cloudiness has been caused by air. The tiny air bubbles will rise to the surface and cloudiness will disappear. Rest assured; cloudiness caused by air in the water is not harmful to your health.
We apologise for any inconvenience cause. For any questions, please contact Hastings District Council on (06) 871 5000 or email customerservice@hdc.govt.nz.

POTTING MIX QUALITY
If, like me, you are an experienced and avid gardener you know how frustrating it is when those beautiful seedlings recently purchased fail to thrive. Have you ever considered it may not be your fault, you've done all the right things but it may be the new bag of potting mix you bought to plant them in . Have you ever complained to the garden centre? My recent experience showed the blatantly obvious difference between brands. The recently purchased product was nothing more than raw compost, whereas the previous product was a good mix and made the plants thrive. I was the only one to complain, there could not possibly be a problem with the product as they sell pallet loads of it........ Your comments would be appreciated.
