Canterbury has been named the fifth most welcoming region in the world in the Booking.com Traveller Review Awards, while Oamaru, Hokitika and Invercargill have been named the most welcoming towns in NZ. They were followed by Cambridge, Picton, Lake Tekapo, Kerikeri, Palmerston North, Paihia and Twizel.
We'd be really keen to hear your thoughts on this based on your own travels around New Zealand. Do you think Canterbury is NZ's most welcoming region? And are these our most welcoming towns?
Where in NZ have you been made to feel particularly welcome on your travels?
As usual, please put 'NFP' in your comment if you don't want it to be included in an article. Cheers.

Due to ongoing high water usage throughout January and prolonged hot, dry weather, level 4 water restrictions are now in place for Waimārama. The current restrictions mean there is a total sprinkler and hose ban in place. We ask that you adhere strictly to the irrigation ban which includes watering gardens and lawns as well as the use of sprinklers or hoses for recreational purposes. The restrictions will extend to the washing of boats if there are indications that supply is not coping with the demand. The rest of Hastings district remains at level 2 for now.

I’m needing to get a petrol mower, I was hoping for a good second hand one, but keep missing out, so now I’m looking at new, affordable ones. I need a fairly tough one, but not big.
I went to the mower shop by The Warehouse, yesterday, but despite all the old mowers in front of the shop, with price tags, the man said they don’t sell them, and I can’t find any other second hand mower dealers.
