This is the question posed by a new project, Nourished for Nil, which will start collecting food this month destined for landfill and redirecting it into Hawke's Bay tummies. The group, based in Hastings, will collect unsold goods from Hawke's Bay cafes and bakeries which would end up heading to landfill then take them to a site in central Hastings for anyone to collect.
The food will be safe to eat, but deemed unable to be sold by stores.

HPV-related cancers take a long time to develop, the viruses are mostly transmitted by teenagers and young adults but often aren’t diagnosed until later. That’s why it’s important for children to be immunised when they are young. Around 80% of people will be exposed to HPV at some point in their life. Protecting children before they are exposed to HPV will protect their health in the future.
For more information about HPV immunisation, see www.health.govt.nz/hpv

The Frenchman, who has lived with wife Korreen and three kids in rural Hawke's Bay since 2009, still has a wardrobe jammed full, with about 70 boxes of sneakers, but it's a far cry from the 130 he owned at "peak fetish" about five years ago.
