The collection was found when police went to the property to assist a power company cutting off the house which had racked up a $10,000 power bill. Officers quickly realised some of the colourful items splashed around the property had been reported missing over the past few months.

Craig McKibbin, the man planning to swim the 85 kilometre perimeter of Lake Waikaremoana, has completed the challenge in seven days. As part of the 18 months of training and preparation he dedicated his swim to Hawke's Bay's U-Turn Trust which supports troubled young people.
