You’ve no doubt had clothing, furniture or blankets that have developed ‘pills’ over time, or little lint balls, that can make the fabric look worn. This undesired texture is caused by loose or broken fabric fibres that rise to the surface and knot together after being rubbed or subjected to any friction. The loose fibres that are bunched into balls also bring in strands that are still secured to the fabric itself, thus the balls stick around on the exterior. Even though people are dismayed to see pilling on their items, understanding fabric pilling helps to prevent and remove these bothersome balls.
Causes of Fabric Pilling
What does it mean when fabric is pilling? Pilling is a result of normal wear and tear that causes friction on the fabric. Simply wearing clothes, using your couch or otherwise rubbing up against the material gives the possibility of pilling. Washing and drying clothes or fabric can also speed up the pilling process as it causes multiple surfaces to rub together fairly quickly and for a long period of time.
Sometimes you can have pilling that differs in colour to the base fabric as multiple coloured fibres have migrated and twisted together. Although not desired, a little decorative perhaps?
Pilling is more noticeable on synthetic fibres. This is mainly because natural fabrics shed loose fibres easily and naturally slip away so they tend to not become matted into balls. However, synthetic fibres are extremely strong, so it will pill and then remain strongly attached to the fabric.

This fund will instill our youth with hope that they can strive to achieve their goals.

The Parish cordially invites past members of the Wesley congregation to celebrate with us on Sunday 28 August 2022, at 11am, the Hamilton East Methodist Parish final service for the English- speaking congregation which has worshipped at its Wesley Methodist Church since 1925 at Heaphy Terrace, Fairfield.
The Church in Heaphy Terrace will continue to be used by the Parish’s Fijian congregation, and the ‘faithful few’ who have continued to attend English-language services will transfer to St John’s Church in Hamilton East.
The final service will be a very special one for members of the Wesley Congregation past and present and a lunch to follow.

I had back surgery 2 yrs ago and has long term limitation abilities as in standing,walking ,climbing up stairs and high risk of falls. I am living in a rental house for the last 8yrs and now the owners of the property has decided to sell the house.I was given notice to vacate the house by October. Based on my limitations in doing certain tasks and keeping my house a safe place , the house that I am looking for need to have the following requirements or design.
They are :
No stairs/No steps
One level
Shower (No shower in bath) I had several falls in the bath in the past
Low maintenance garden or courtyard
Single access internal garage- so will be easy for me to walk into the house in carrying laundry or shopping
Pets friendly as my cats are house trained and indoor cats (3)
I have always paid my rent on time over the years of living in rental property. I can still drive. I do my best to keep the house clean and I do get home help from the hospital once a week.
I am willing to pay $400 - $550 per week .
I don't have much time and need to move out by mid October.
