Robert runs a non-profit called Whangarei Native Bird Recovery where he treats and rescues native birds until they are able and healthy enough to go back into the wild.

This little guy was rescued from a popular and busy park earlier today. He would've fallen from his nest and as they cannot fly at this age was unable to get back to his nest! This makes morepork very vulnerable to predators.

Robert will keep 'Biggles' (dubbed by Lyn) until he's grown all his feathers and able to fly. Also, we HAD to get a photo op with our own Spark Morepork pamphlets :)
