Hello everyone!

You may recall that throughout October and November last year I regularly posted progress updates and pleas for volunteers for the new Foxton Beach Community Patrol that was being formed at the time.

As part of our launch in December we focussed on setting up our Facebook page “Foxton Beach Community Patrol” as our primary “window to the world”.

We have been providing our Facebook page as the primary digital channel for people to stay in touch with us and keep track of what is going on in “Community Patrol Land”.

We realise though that there are plenty of people in the Neighbourly Foxton and Foxton Beach areas that do not use Facebook so now that we are “in the groove” a bit when it comes to patrolling (you’ll see us out there most evenings patrolling the streets of Foxton Beach) we’re putting things in place to regularly keep more of our fellow Foxton & Beach residents and home owners up to date with what we’ve been up to and planning to do going forward.

So this message simply to let you know that:

a) Anyone can follow our Facebook page - that will, for the time being, be our main channel of providing updates, sharing NZ Police warnings, highlighting Neighbourhood Support info we feel may be relevant to our towns, and tracking/responding to/having online comments, conversations and discussions about day to day crime prevention, detection and reporting, crime prevention ideas (eg CCTV) and current community safety and security issues;

b) We will try to replicate here, from our Facebook page, general updates and plans regarding the Community Patrol’s activities, coverage, size, sponsors etc., to make sure that as many people are “in the know” about who we are, what we’re about, how that translates to what we do when we are on patrol and when we’re looking for more volunteers;

So keep an eye out for our Neighbourly posts - hopefully you’ll find they make you feel even more warm and fuzzy about living here than you already do 😎

Regards!
