Road rules, footpath rules e scooters and other zippy devices.

Iola from Awapuni

Before PNCC Councillors decide that e scooters and other zippy ways of riding on the footpath or the enlarged cycle ways are permitted, can we have a discussion about road and footpath safety.? Who is at fault if I am exiting my driveway, and a cyclist, e scooter or other on the footpath, crashes into me? Who is at fault if I am backing out of my driveway and a cyclist, e scooter on the footpath crashes in to me? Does the cyclist or e scooter rider, have insurance for any damage he/she may do to my car? Do cyclists and e scooter riders have householders insurance, which in some cases will compensate me for any damage the cyclist or e scooter rider does to my car? Do mobility scooters also have insurance to cover any damages? I do know that some householders insurance does cover damage to others done by children or dogs.
I think it is all very well to have these new ideas, if everyone has the assurances that safety responsibilty, is important and insurance is also important. Already we have a number of helmetless adults riding bikes on the footpaths and no controls or sanctions that can be enforced by the Council. What risk management plans have Council officers prepared regarding this matter.

This boutique hotel offers a new owner the opportunity to combine a healthy and diverse lifestyle with an interesting and profitable business which naturally scales down during winter, allowing for a holiday.

Each of the five beautifully appointed suites has been subtly themed, providing individual charm as well as comfort. In the heart of the lodge is a spacious, recently renovated farmhouse kitchen enjoying garden and orchard views. A large woodburner with wetback heats the water for a series of radiators around the house, ensuring year-round warmth.

Organically managed, the four-hectare property provides the ability to live from the land with honey, fruit trees, berry patches, vegetable gardens, olives and grazing for sheep, cattle and horses. The small Chardonnay vineyard with a careful selection of clones produces a succulent house wine thoroughly enjoyed by guests from all around the world.

A range of useful ancillary sheds and buildings offers space for projects, hobbies, storage and accommodation for staff. Other facilities on the property include a petanque court, croquet lawn and small gymnasium overlooking the swimming pool.

This extraordinarily diverse and unique lifestyle is ideally located on State Highway One, less than a five-minute drive from central Blenheim and 15 minutes from numerous winery cellar doors, restaurants and the airport.

Offers from $2,500,000 plus GST (if any)

Glass recycling bins were placed next to my boundary fence which terrified my livestock. Mayor Helen Worboys response to my complaint was "Well no one wants to have a recycling center next to them". I now have to wear earmuffs when outside due to the glass breaking several times a day (even on xmas day). Then there is the truck that is there for an hour with hydraulics banging the bins that collect the cardboard etc. It has caused me much distress and greatly affected my quality of life. So please neighbors what do you think? Would you want to live next to this and if you did purchase land next to a recycling center would you want it for cheap? Thanks

I bought these new from the UK last year and by the time they arrived I had decided I was bowling well with my original bowls. However, I keep wavering because these feel nice in my hand but are a bit heavy for me. They have a similar line to the Dreamline but come in nicely around all those short bowls. They also hold their line nicely in adverse conditions which is why I wanted them...plus I love the colour. I pick racehorses like that as well!
