Aged 96 years, passed away peacefully at The Wood Retirement Village in Nelson. Loved only daughter to the late Sydney and Hilda Smith, and loved niece to the late Mary Alice Smith and Robert Smith. Much treasured mum to Prue, beloved Gran to Dion, Stacy and Marissa, and cherished Great-Gran to Ollie and Uri. A private service and cremation has been held.
HOBBS, Lorraine Edith (nee Fisher)
Aged 85 years. After a long battle with dementia, passed away at 10.20pm on Friday, October 7, 2022, surrounded by family. She will be missed by Jimmy and Diane, Lorraine and the late Wayne Carson, Colleen and Tommy Cairns, Trevor, and Warren, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the Special Care Unit staff at Charles Upham Rymans Rangiora for caring for our mum over the last 6 years. A private burial at Springston Cemetery has been held. Late of 71 Seatoun Heights Road, Wellington, passed away on October 7, 2022, one month exactly before her 98th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Steve Wedekind, beloved mother and mother-in-law of Cherry and Laurie McCallum, Howard and Michelle Wedekind, loved grandmother to Andre and Bronwyn, Joseph and Vida, Timothy and Angela, Coralie and James, Jessie and Tom. Beloved great-grandmother to her seven great-grandchildren.
