PIRRIT, Blair Gray (Gray)

Born 23rd March 1929. Gray passed away peacefully on 13th October 2022, aged 93. Eldest son of 4 boys of the late Petti and Blair (Joe) Pirrit of Morrinsville. Loved elder brother of Tim, brother-in-law to Susan and respected Uncle of Jamie Richard and Tracey. Great-Uncle of Chris and Bradley, Ellie Larni Gina and Jed, and Lewis and Lachlan.
One of life’s true gentlemen and will be
greatly missed by all.

On October 10, 2022, peacefully at St Allisa Lifecare, aged 79 years. Dearly loved husband of Faye and much loved by all the members of his near and extended family. Passed away Nelson Public Hospital surrounded by her whanaupani, after a long battle with COPD on Thursday, October 13, 2022, aged 71. Darling 50 years treasured wife of Archdeacon Emeritus Harvey Ruru. Loved Mum, Mother-in-law and Nana to Toni-Francis Ruru and Paul Darry; Laura-Anne Ruru and Brian Thomas and Nana to Anahera (USA); Phillipa-Lee Ruru and Brent Neal; to her many loved nephews and nieces especially Charles and Dave Priestly (Upper Hutt), Lisa Ramanui (Porirua), Wayne and the late Wyn Mansell and Judy (Wellington); Faye and Lorna Savage (Wainuiomata). Last of the 2 Ramanui Te Au Turoa remaining siblings out of 19. DU FLOU, Brian Allan

Passed away peacefully at Auckland Hospital on 13 October 2022, aged 89 years. Loved Husband of Joan, adored Father of Jane, Anna & Simon, father-in-law of John & Amanda and Grandfather of Gracey, Holly & Oscar. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Auckland Hospital and Summerset Ellerslie for their incredible care of Brian over the last couple of years. A Funeral for Brian will be held at St Michael’s Catholic Church, Remuera, Auckland on Friday 21 October and a service in celebration of his life will be held in Wellington in the coming weeks - TBA. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at Southland Hospital on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in his 82nd year. Dearly loved husband of Andrena. Cherished father and father-in-law of Richard and Robyn, Kerry Goodwin and Geoff Milne, Sue and Clark Whelan, David* and Kimmie, and Paul and Sarah. Adored fun and loving Grandad and great-grandad. Of Paraparaumu Beach. On Friday, 14 October 2022, peacefully at home with his family around him. Beloved husband of Pat; father of Abby and Peter; and Gumps of Maximus, Willow, and Axel. Beloved by Roy, Alan, Denise, and Susan Shannon, and by Mark and Simon. A service to celebrate Alan’s life will be held at Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, 9–11 Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu, at 2.30pm on Thursday, 20 October, to be followed by a private cremation. APPLEYARD, Bernadette

Peacefully on October 12, 2022, with her sons at her side. Partner of Dale McLean, mother of Ben Appleyard and Michael McLean. Daughter of Marie and Bernard Appleyard, sister to Catherine Heyrick, Dominic Appleyard, Paul Appleyard, Marie-Louise Appleyard, Christine Poynter. Bernadette was to be a grandmother in December.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand would be appreciated and may be left at the service. A service for Bernadette will be held in the Church of Ss Peter and Paul, 60 Knights Road, Lower Hutt on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10.30am.

Of Feilding, formerly of Woodville, on Friday 14th October 2022, peacefully at Palmerston North Hospital, after a short illness, aged 87 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Val. ROLAND, Wilson Bruce

Died peacefully on his own terms on 14th October 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Much loved husband of Linda and adored dad to Sam and Fergus. Loved brother of Barbs and Carole and brother-in-law to John. Born 25.12.1952; taken much too soon, with so many adventures still to be had. Sincere thanks to the staff of the Haematology Department at Auckland Hospital for giving us so much more time with him than we would otherwise have had. Also, thank you to Auckland Hospice for their support to allow the family to manage Bruce’s death at home.
Rest in peace BW,
an inspirational man and a life lived to the full. Will be so sadly missed by many.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Thursday 20th October, at 10.00am, at All Saints Chapel, Purewa, 100 St John’s Rd Meadowbank.
