COLLETT, Maxwell Amner (Max)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maxwell Amner Collett, WW2 Spitfire Pilot of RNZAF 485 Sqn, and a well-known accountant in Hawke’s Bay, who passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2022, in his 100th year. Max was the dearly loved father of Rosemary, Vivienne, Noel and Dianne, grandfather of Tania, Jason, Vincent, Riley, Bentley and Winston, and great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren. Max was predeceased by his wife Noeline to whom he was married for over 60 years. Max’s devotion to family, support for the community, energy, wit and enthusiasm for life will be missed by all who knew him. Of Feilding. Dad passed on Tuesday unexpectedly but peacefully, with family present, and is now reunited with his beloved Lorraine. He was a much-loved husband of Lorraine (deceased) for 56 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Les and Julie (Palmerston North), Raewyn and Rae (Australia), Tracey and Stu (Feilding), and Bronwyn and John (Palmerston North), and loved Pop of Kelly, Renee; Justin, Sharlene; Heidi, Joshua; and Lia and Ellie, and great-grandfather of 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
