Delta Community Support Trust is most appreciative of Matthew’s offer to cycle around the South Island to raise awareness of food security issues among low income people.
Matthew regularly collects and provides canned food and other goods to Delta and other charities. This provides much needed support to people struggling to make ends meet. For more information about his work please see his Facebook page. www.facebook.com... and the following article. www.stuff.co.nz...
Delta is a Christian community development agency working in Richmond and surrounding suburbs. We use the food provided by Matthew to help feed people in need. We do this mainly through a Food Bank through which we distribute 1400 parcels a year, and a low cost community meal that provides 2800 two course dinners a year. We are a registered Charity (Charity Number CC21084) For more information about us please see www.deltatrust.org.nz...
If you could consider supporting us either through giving cans, or by cash that would be much appreciated. For the latter this is most easily done through our givealittle page www.givealittle.co.nz.... Please include the words ‘recyclingman’ with your donation.
Thanks again to Matthew for this huge effort to help people in need.
Thank you also so much for considering supporting us.
Yours Sincerely,
Ian Burn

It has been said that Maori poorer members of society could be affected the greatest. WHAT IS BEING CONSIDERED IS COMPENSATION! We all know that WE choose to live where we do, we also know that there are many very wealthy people who own palatial properties in these same areas. It is very scary where this Government could be leading us. I will be interested to know what others think.

Entrants have just over two months to prepare for the annual Run to Remember event, where runners and walkers of all ages and abilities follow a course along the Port Hills from Victoria to Hansen Park.
Sport Canterbury chief executive Julyan Falloon says the route offers an opportunity to remember and reflect on those affected by the earthquakes. "We've all been impacted in different ways. There is no other experience where you take time to look over the city and reflect."
