Visiting Tom Cat

This tom cat has been calling to see me for a feed for the last three annual cat mating seasons, then he disappears again. (I don't have an non-neutered female to engage his interest.) The first time he was about a year old, bigger in the second year, and this year he is fully grown. He's reasonably socialised, and will walk into the kitchen like a boss when I open the door. Last weekend I saw him on the front lawn of a house in Smith Street down near Linwood Park, but he may have been stalking a bird rather than relaxing at home.

Does anyone recognize him? I'm weighing up whether to properly adopt him, have him vet checked and neutered, etc, but don't want to steal him away from someone else if he does have an owner. Please reply to this message to contact me.

I responded that the subscriber would need to provide more info, that the photos could be of an innocent person going about their legitimate business. After a couple of querelous responses from the subscriber (claiming they had the right to know), it appears someone at Neighbourly took the whole post down. If that was the case, very sensible and well done.

The family behind a brewery born from the rubble of the Christchurch earthquakes are “in a state of disbelief” following their third win at the World Beer Awards.

Cassels & Sons has thrived in its Woolston site since the quakes struck a decade ago.

On Friday, the team woke to discover their American pale ale (APA) had been named the world’s best for 2021 at the World Beer Awards in the United Kingdom.

The small Garden City brewery pipped several well-known global brands with its third win in a row at the awards, leaving owner Alasdair Cassels in “a state of disbelief”.

Not bad from little old Woolston, eh?

Hi Neighbours!

Cherry from Heathcote Valley

We are in Heathcote Valley and thinking of doing a revamp of our slightly dated but functional kitchen! Can anybody recommend a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable kitchen company please? Not going to to be a full rebuild, just an updating. Many thanks for your help-stay safe! Cherry
