The ban, which prohibits any outdoor fires in the open air being lit, comes into force at midnight on Tuesday.
The Waimakariri, Selwyn and Hurunui districts remain in a restricted fire season which meant only permitted fires could be lit. If the scorching hot weather continues, those areas were also expected to be in a total fire ban by the end of next week.

The paint had peeled right off the weather boards. Pur process includes sanding, sealing/undercoating, filling, under coating filler, then finishing off with two top coats of the chosen colour. Sanding in between all coats is essential as it gives us a smooth surface to work with.
Hard work in the hot weather but a bonus is that everything dries very quickly and we are able to get the job done quickly.
