Mainland Big Band at the Cashmere Club
Are you tired of spending every Saturday night at home and feel that there is nothing out there for the Baby Boomers? then you would be wrong!
The Mainland Big Band will be playing again in the Sports Hall at the Cashmere Club on Saturday 2nd March (this Saturday). This is a large 16+ piece band featuring saxophones, trumpets, trombones, flute and vocals, supported by a 4-person rhythm section. The Band has a wide repertoire of music from Big Band and jazz standards, show tunes, 50’s rock’n’roll, 60’s and 70’s pop and rock, 80’s disco and into the new millennium. If you want to relive the music of your youth or would simply enjoy music that is designed to get the feet tapping and dancing then come and join the crowd! Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
