Rats!

Leith from Hillsborough

I haven't had rats in the ceiling for a couple of years but they have just moved in again- or at least one has. I live next to the Victory Drain and its possible they are coming up the drain. My Pest Controller says he has just been to another house in Hillsborough Terrace, so maybe this is another plague like the last one. I recommend that you get bait laid in your ceilings ASAP. The last lot I had chewed through plastic water pipes and caused a flood inside my walls, on top of the bedroom ceiling and wet carpets before I stopped telling myself I was dreaming about the chewing noises (also known as denial!). So far I have just lost sleep. Hopefully it will be all over by the end of the week.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
