For example: We have received confirmation today that the Cashmere High School Jazz band is unfortunately unable to perform related to the tragic passing of Tom Fastier (a Year 13 CHS Student who was part of the band apparently). Our SCERT Committee wishes to pass on our sincere thoughts to the band members and Tom's family members / friends affected by his tragic passing last week.
Otherwise this event hopes to be a great way to connect further with our community groups and local families prior to the start of the April School Holidays.
If you can assist with this event or any of the Community preparedness packages in plastic bags to be distributed to all local families - we would also love to hear from you please!
Thanks to those of you who have already offered to assist!!
Otherwise come and find out how our SCERT committee has best decided to make our community more connect and prepared for any future emergency situation!! We never know when SCERT may be needed!!?!
Regards Julie Tobbell.

Does any know why there are huge heavy laden trucks going up Hackthorne Road in the evening until late and where they are going to? It's a hell of a racket and and keeping the children awake, not to mention the vibrations coming off the road. It's been two nights in a row.

Turf has been dugup with a good level of soil on the grass and in strips. About half ready to collect today or Saturday. The rest on Easter Sunday or Monday, so you could take it and re-lay it at your place and water it for a virtually instant lawn. (Hoping that it will take root and grow.)
Pick up will be from Longhurst in Halswell.
