Bishopdale Plunket – Story Times

Bishopdale Community Trust

Bishopdale's newest playgroup is all about babies and toddlers being exposed to books.

Books which allow your baby / toddler the opportunity to explore by touch, viewing and also hearing the story being read to them.

At the beginning of each session a book especially hand-picked each week will be read to the group then parents are invited to relax and enjoy the space.

We have allocated a safe and secured spot on the deck which is fenced at Ōrauwhata: Bishopdale Library.

If weather is a bit cold, we will move the group inside. Families are invited to bring their morning tea to enjoy in the outdoor space.

Starting – Monday 22nd February, 10am – 11am, Ōrauwhata: Bishopdale Library.

For more information, please contact – Babs Sutherland at babs.sutherland@plunket.org.nz

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
