If you are a home owner or wish to become one or you rent a home you will have opinions on what you would like your surrounding environment to be like. If you wish to purchase you will want to know what could be built next door. If you own a home you would have chosen where to purchase based upon the zoning rules and would never have envisaged that zone to change. It is proposed that this is going to happen. Nb, this intensification legislation is being forced upon all tier one cities in NZ by the Government and if adopted will result in far more losers than winners. One of the reasons for the legislation is to make housing more affordable, it won't, affordability is market driven. More buyers, price increases and prices decrease with less buyers as per the apartment market at present. In making a submission maybe talk to your neighbours or friends.
