Volunteer teams
Like many others I had my Meals On Wheels delivered on time and nice and hot this morning. In this case by Red Cross volunteers. There will be thoudands of like groups wallowing through flooded driveways and streets looking after the needs of those no longer able to do for themselves.
Too numerous to list all just doing whatever is required to ensure the rest of us are OK. Hopefully behind another group seeing those front line teams are fed and get hot tea and coffee. Used to be either the Sallys or Red Cross Caravans manned by cheerful crews often giving up a warm bed to be there.
Press/Stuff hook a reporter to any one team and tell their story.
In the mean time <A BIG THANKS TO YOU ALL>

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
