Local Likes: Canterbury's favourite local businesses celebrated

Jake Kenny Reporter from Community News

Happy Friday neighbours,

Do you have a favourite local business that you'd like to share with us?

As part of Neighbourly and Stuff’s ‘Local Likes’ campaign, Cantabrians are asked to nominate their favourite local businesses, and share what makes them so great.

Receiving multiple nominations, Bohemian Bakery in St Martin’s has proved an early frontrunner for Christchurch’s top local entity.

The bakery has been lauded for having “the best sourdough in the city” and “the most divine vegan pain au chocolat.” Their salty pretzels are also a crowd favourite, and the staff are always good for a laugh.

Do you have a place you'd like to add? Please let us know below.

Full story can also be read by clicking 'Read more' below.

Have a good weekend folks. Jake

Brilliant Smart Wi-Fi Lights

Donna from Wigram

Hi,

We recently purchased the attached up / down exterior lights which work off wi-fi.

Does anyone have these & managed to successfully get the App to work?
We have tried everything with our limited amount of knowledge when it comes to technology, to no avail.

Would appreciate any ideas. We got the app working, but it will not connect & wi-fi signal is good.

Thanks

Acer's Story

The Team from Graeme Dingle Foundation Canterbury

Acer Ah Chee-Wilson got into to trouble and made some bad decisions in his younger years. He hated school and wanted to drop out at age 14. A shy anti-social boy who kept to himself was then introduced to Project K.

"The person I used to be is in the past. The mischief, the bad man. I’ve looked further into the future to where I want to be and who I’m going to be."
