End in sight for year-long roadworks on Christchurch's Colombo St

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from The Press

More than a year of roadworks on one of Christchurch's major streets is almost at an end.

The $4.4 million Christchurch City Council project is installing a new wastewater pipeline along the middle of Colombo St between the roundabout at Dyers Pass Rd and Fisher Ave.

Construction work started on June 5, 2018, and was expected to take 12 months, but has ran slightly over schedule. It will be completed on Wednesday, though some ,more minor work will be done in July.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
