Mothers ring
On Wednesday evening May 10, I accidentally left my ring on the floor of the grey Lynn community centre during my yoga class. The hall is dimly lit for yoga and I forgot that I had taken it off so I didn’t see it when I was leaving. The choir used the hall straight after with the lights on and I’m hoping somebody found it when they were putting the chairs out for choir or putting them away. It is a gold ring with 2 diamonds on either side of an emerald. It was my late mothers engagement ring so not only is it valuable it is irreplaceable in our family. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
