Our Essential Services Offer
At the beginning of Level 4 we wanted to do something to help. Not just at the end of the 4 - 6 weeks when we hoped to re-open. We wanted to have something available that we could send to our essential services to lift their spirits in the midst of some of the longest working days of their lives. We set up the Essential Care initiative via our gift voucher page. A honesty based nomination that we are funding to say thank you. We also had a request to sponsor an essential care worker so this was made available as well. A shared cost between us and our community. So far we have sent out 56 digital vouchers for a one hour free treatment and 9 sponsored vouchers to be enjoyed at either at Albany or Howick locations. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Auckland Harbour Bridge summer works
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is carrying out essential maintenance on the Auckland Harbour Bridge this December and January. The southbound clip-on lanes will be closed (24/7) from 26 December to 5 January for road resurfacing. Night-time lane restrictions will be in place throughout the summer for recoating work on the bridge. Traffic will still be able to travel in both directions at all times.
