New Zealand has among the highest proportions of threatened or at-risk species in the world, and around 25 million native birds are killed by introduced predators every year. But it's not all bad news - when predators are removed or controlled, nature bounces back fast. Weβve already seen it happening in many parts of the country!
People all over Aotearoa are doing their bit - setting traps in their backyards, planting natives, volunteering, or donating. You can too! Backyard trapping is one example of effective individual action.
What do you think? Can we reach our Predator Free target in 2050?

Thatβs when I discovered dance fitness. Moving to music not only supports my coordination and recovery, but also lifts my mood and gives me back a sense of freedom. Dance fitness is for everyoneβwhether youβre recovering, keeping fit, or just wanting to have fun. In fact, FitSteps is the UKβs number one dance-based fitness programme, blending ballroom and Latin moves into a workout thatβs enjoyable, effective, and empowering. I attached a couple of flyers below so you can find a class if you are interested.
