URGENT: puppy needs a safe home
The owner doesn’t want him and spca doesn’t have space. He’s being left outside in the cold and rain all day and all night, tied up by a short leash to a door handle. Would any kind hearted family want to give this puppy a safe and warm home please. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?

I think we’ve all seen the traffic notices and headlines about the new IKEA by now!

I’ve collating donations for the SWDC dog shelter (near-expiry food; towels, blankets, plastic beds, toys, etc). There’s enough already to fill a 4-wheel drive or big ute but, at least, a BIG boot full. It would be great to get this to the shelter (esp. the short-dated food) ASAP
