Success and progress for Howick Botany Neighbourhood Support

John Gibbs-Newton from Howick Botany Neighbourhood Support

Howick Botany Neighbourhood Support are very pleased to announce success in two funding bids to improve Neighbourhood Support in this area.
1. Howick Local Board has provided a grant to support the work of Street Coordinators and the setting up of new groups in local streets.
2. We have been granted funds by Neighbourhood Support New Zealand to upgrade our technology and administration systems.
These two grants are major steps in our aim to improve coverage of Neighbourhood Support in Howick and Botany and make our streets safer from crime.

In further steps to improve the coverage and effectiveness of Neighbourhood Support:
We have received new street signage and documentation from Neighbourhood Support New Zealand, and
A Training Meeting for existing and potential Street Coordinators is to be held on 7th July 7:30 to 9:30pm at Willowbank School staffroom.

If you are interested in finding out more about being a Street Coordinator or about Neighbourhood Support ring Gay Sykes (Chair) on 0272712494 or 09 5348184 or go to the link below

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
