Follow MetService New Zealand for the latest weather updates.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Check your drains and gutters to ensure they arenโ€™t blocked. These can cause flooding issues during heaving rain.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Take extreme care if you are driving in heavy rain, and delay trips if possible. Plan your journey with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, avoid low-lying areas and drive cautiously.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Do not try to walk, play, swim or drive in floodwater.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Look out for neighbours, friends and family will also be important, especially if you live, work or travel in an area that is prone to flooding, slips or power outages

Raumati Reads is a free, fun summer reading challenge for primary school aged children that will help them maintain their reading levels over the summer break. Itโ€™s a must-do for the school holidays offering free events and activities at local libraries across Tฤmaki Makaurau, with great prizes to be won from Auckland Live, Auckland Zoo, Auckland Pools and Leisure, Auckland FC and the Maritime Museum.

Tamariki and their whฤnau can register from Saturday 6 December at their local Auckland Libraries branch to begin the challenge, which runs until Sunday 1 February.
