Pohutakwa FREE 0275801949

Roger from Half Moon Bay

Metrosideros Excelsa Maori Princess Pohutakawa
A popular cultivar of the iconic NZ Native known as the Pohutukawa. Often used for street-side plantings or bordering a driveway. A more upright habit and less spreading makes for a very popular Pohutukawa where space is limited. Brilliant display of scarlet-red flowers in early summer. Protect young trees from frost. Great coastal hardy plant that will withstand dry and rigorous coastal conditions.
Grows to H 5m x W 3m.

This was only planted last year so still quite small and easy to transplant

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
