Guinness world record: Toastmasters complete marathon

Alison Perkins from Pakuranga Toastmasters

Congratulations to all who took part in this magnificent event. With 25 independent witnesses monitoring the speakers in four hour shifts, from Easter Sunday 11 am continuously one after the other until the Friday evening.

171 Toastmasters gave 381 speeches, all over 7 minutes, some over an hour. All with an audience throughout and no more than 30 seconds between speakers.

Subjects presented were many and varied, including personal stories. The confidence that successful Toastmasters gain was on show throughout.

The Toastmasters ethics, integrity, they promised to be there. Respect, they supported each other. Service, they turned up. Excellence, they did it in style.

They achieved the Guinness World Record Speech Marathon 127 hours 31 minutes 43 seconds.

Officially amazing!
