Greetings Neighbours. On the afternoon of Sunday 12 October I fell over outside 38 Polygon Rd sustaining a cracked vertebrae, scrapes and bruises. I spent the following 8 days in hospital. I'm very grateful that a number of kind persons came to my aid. A few days later in my letterbox there were 2 lovely cards and a batch of homemade chocolate chips cookies from Olivia, Emma and Rich and also Amelia. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
