Rats On The Rise

Chris from Complete Pest Control

🐀 Rats on the Rise: Don’t Let Them Take Over 🐀

Rodent sightings are becoming more common — and retail chains have noticed, now stocking shelves with high numbers of bait stations. But buying bait isn’t enough. Proper placement and monitoring are key to stopping a rat infestation before it takes hold is important. Rats can be very intelligent and we need to work with that.

✅ The Right Way to Use Bait Stations:
For most residential properties, four bait stations is generally sufficient when placed correctly.

DO:

✅ Place stations in secluded, low-traffic areas — along walls, behind sheds, near fence lines, or in overgrown corners.

✅ If possible, cover or conceal stations to protect from weather and discourage tampering.

✅ Check bait stations weekly to ensure bait is being consumed and replaced as needed.

✅ Wear gloves when handling bait or stations.

DON’T:

❌ Don’t place stations in open areas accessible to pets or children.

❌ Don’t move the stations frequently — rodents are creatures of habit it can take a week for them to feel comfortable to enter a bait station and start consuming.

❌ Don’t forget: bait is only one part of a successful rodent control plan. Sanitation and exclusion matter too.
