Cat found on Orakei Rd
This morning on my way to work I found a cat that had unfortunately been run over on Orakei Rd, just up the hill from Palmers, near Manawa Rd. Unfortunately I couldn't do anything for it but I didn't want to leave it on the road to be further damaged, so I moved it to the grass berm. I am sorry I didn't have time to go around the houses to see if it belonged to someone as I was on my way to work. Hopefully someone will know who it belongs to. I am so sorry for your loss.
Thank you also to the kind woman who also stopped and helped slow down the traffic so I could retrieve the cat. You were very comforting to me as I was pretty upset.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
