Community Classes

The Team from Red Cross - Hastings Service Centre

Have you ever wanted to learn to play the Ukulele, or want to make your own Xmas Cards, are you looking to increase your clarity and confidence or have a guitar that you want to be more than a display item.

During October and November there will be 4 community classes being held in the Hastings Service Centre Hub to not only educate but also bring the community together.

- Beginner Guitar Lessons and Beginner Ukulele Lessons with Steve Webb
- A better me - Women's Workshop - Focusing on goal setting, clarity, confidence, mindefulness, taking action and more with Kristyl from Maia Dreams
- Xmas card making class with Grace Green - scrapbooking, stamping and papercraft

There is a minimum of 4 participants for each class. If you are interested please contact amber.mcarthur@redcross.org.nz or pop by the Service Centre to register.

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

New neighbour

Okay folks, if you feed your animals outside, you might want to rethink that. We have new nocturnal neighbours, inside Havelock North.
There is a very well fed brush tail possum up the pōhutukawa tree in my garden.
I don’t know where it’s come in from, but it’s in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, so keep an eye on your pet doors, open windows and doors and pet food.
I’ll be notifying council and DOC tomorrow.
