Bird in a Cage social enterprise - 3 days left!
Hi neighbours,
I'm working on a social enterprise called Bird in a Cage to raise awareness and funds in the fight against human trafficking, in particular sex slavery. 100% of the profits from my business will be donated to an organisation working with victims (Hagar) and in the future I hope to employ survivors to make my products giving them a new way of life but also to tell their stories.
I'll be starting with a range of jewellery, soaps and whatever else I can come up with!
I have a pledgeme campaign running that finishes on Monday night. I have already raised $8,000 and have $2,000 to go! If I don't reach my target I have to start again as none of the pledges will go through.
If you can help by sharing on social media or donating I'd be so grateful! The campaign has been limited to my friends and family but thought I'd reach out to my neighbours as well.
The link for more info and to donate is:
pledgeme.co.nz...
Thanks for considering,
Angela Crocker

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
