Events & multi-purpose stadiums
I was interested to read online today that 8 concerts/overseas artists are coming to NZ over the next short while and while 2 are coming to Christchurch none are going to Dunedin. This piqued my interest so I did some research on where the concerts will be held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and it turns out they are all being held in theaters, opera houses and event centers, like Spark Arena, Logan Campbell Event Center, The Powerhouse, Wellington Opera House, and Horncastle Arena. The largest capacity is 12000 which is the Spark Arena.
I believe this is evidence that having a covered stadium for rugby, events and concerts as Dunedin has and what many in Christchurch are clamouring for, doesn't necessarily guarantee that overseas artists will come.
