The first ever cat cafe, Catnap Cafe is coming to Christchurch
Hi to all you wonderful Neighbourly folk
My son, Nate, and his wife, Alyssa, are working hard to raise $25000 to help start the first every cat cafe in South Island right here in Christchurch!
They only have 6 days to go to raise the last $7550 and so I'm spreading the word about their crowd-funding project where people can pledge from just $5.00. Every pledge has a corresponding reward. Pledges will only become donations when the $25000 goal is reached.
Every pledge will be greatly appreciated and help to make a wonderful new place for people to meet, have a cuppa and something delicious to eat and interact with Cat Rescue cats and kittens - you could also give a special, forever home to one of the cats or kittens that will be available for adoption.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
