Heatstroke
Merry Xmas everyone, cases of dogs, especially dogs,and cats suffering heatstroke already. They only have their paw pads to sweat thru, so any extra panting, drooling, Signs of stress or weakness, they need to to be cooled down. It’s dangerous,. Don’t walk in the heat, or leave in the car, . Soak them with cool water, cool towels, let them drink. and if no better, vet should be visited. They are relying on us, and a gift that we need to love and appreciate. Obviously shade is best, don’t leave them tied up or outside on hot decks, or even in houses that are shut up. Leave air con and fans on, open windows and doors open a bit if you can. Look after your fur babies everyone.

Auckland Harbour Bridge summer works
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is carrying out essential maintenance on the Auckland Harbour Bridge this December and January. The southbound clip-on lanes will be closed (24/7) from 26 December to 5 January for road resurfacing. Night-time lane restrictions will be in place throughout the summer for recoating work on the bridge. Traffic will still be able to travel in both directions at all times.
