Neighbours Day Roadshow - we made it to your neighbourhood!
Day 3 saw us hosted by Welcoming Communities Ashburton for our first workshop. We got to hear all about the amazing work going on with Neighbourhood Support, the newcomers network and the cool peeps at Mid Canterbury TimeBank. Then we shot up north to visit the AMAZING crew at Waimakariri District Council who are putting on some amazing events in parks in the next few months. We also got to meet Manda at North Canterbury Chicken Rescue, and some of the amazing volunteers at It Takes a Village! Incredible stuff happening across Canterbury

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
