Crews have now temporarily reinstated the road and footpath with asphalt, and has been made safe for regular traffic.
Later in the evening the crew will de-establish the site completely for the weekend.
We will be back on site next week to finalise reinstatement of road and footpath.

Thanks to the crews who have been on site working hard to repair the burst main. Water is now back on.
Crews will remain on site to reinstate the footpath and road. We will provide an update on this shortly.
Crews have just advised that the TSB Arena and Shed 5 on Queens Wharf are also impacted by the water outage.
Businesses are being contacted to check in on all affected and are also being provided with water.

The burst has resulted in dislodged silt covering the footpath in the surrounding area.
Our crews are cleaning this up as quick as possible - but we do ask pedestrians to take an alternate route while we reinstate the impacted footpaths and clean the area.

We are experiencing a burst main in Jervois Quay near Hunter Street in the Wellington CBD this morning. As a result water has been shutdown, which at this stage is only affecting two properties (see picture).

As a result water has been shutdown, which at this stage is only affecting two properties (see picture).
We have no expected time frame on how long this outage will last, however we will provide an update on this as soon as possible. In the meantime, crews will be providing water to impacted customers. Toilets can be used across the road in nearby buildings that aren't impacted.
This work has closed off the exit from Hunter Street onto Jervos Quay - please use an alternate route. We will advise of further traffic impact as the work continues.
