Haven't seen anything on Neighbourly about this yet...

From: wellington.scoop.co.nz...

Just yesterday, Paul Thompson, the Chief Executive of Radio New Zealand and Willy Macalister, Music Content Director, announced that they would be changing the nature of New Zealand’s only Art Music Radio station – RNZ Concert. They propose that RNZ Concert will cease broadcasting on FM (in order to free up slots), and move to AM and streaming services. Furthermore, they propose that the broadcast be largely automated, delivered by a skeletal crew. It appears to be similar to a constantly evolving Spotify playlist. Gone will be the in-depth shows that showcase New Zealand Art Music and its practitioners.

‘A’ for additional bus services from 10 February.
To work with the ongoing bus resource and driver shortage, four of the current suspended services will be serviced by ‘additional’ services. There’ll also be 15 more Route 2 services on the road from 10 February.
These services will have the letter ‘a’ at the end of the route number and will be provided by Mana Coach Services so the buses will look different to the usual Metlink buses which operate this route.
These trips won’t be visible on the RTI or our Metlink website timetable until 8 March, so please see the Service Update for the full list of services. www.metlink.org.nz...
Know before you go and keep up with changes as they happen. Visit Metlink.org.nz or call the Metlink team on 0800 801 700.

This is a rare opportunity to visit these beautiful gardens of national significance. The magnificent house is set at the end of a tree-lined avenue, in acres of landscaped gardens. Wander your way through the Scented Walkway, the Oak Cathedral, passing the Sound Shell to the stunning lake area which played a starring role as Lothlorien in Peter Jackson’s first Lord of Rings film. The gardens have been developed over the years in an English Arts and Crafts style, with the touches of European and Japanese water gardens and Australian and New Zealand natives interspersed. UNESCO Memory of the World New Zealand register
The UNESCO Memory of the World New Zealand register was established in 2010 and currently lists 35 inscriptions of significant documentary heritage. Their custodians include heritage institutions and other organisations in our main cities, small towns and private collections. All greatly contribute to the story of our nation’s history and heritage and are significant to the identity of New Zealanders today.

Hear about the 2019 inscriptions on the New Zealand register
In 2019 five new inscriptions were made to the New Zealand register. Come and hear representatives from Auckland Public Library, Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, Hocken Collections, and the Hocken Collections talk about the items from these collections, why they were selected and why they are important to the history of New Zealand. The five new inscriptions to be discussed are:

• C P Dawes’ early photographs of Hokianga

• meteorological records kept by the Rev Richard Davis from 1839-1851

• WWII NZ Mobile Broadcasting Unit Recordings

•the papers of Dr Muriel Bell, an early medical researcher, and

• the Sir Julius von Haast collection of scientific papers from the late 19th century.

Amongst previous inscriptions are He Whakaputanga, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the 1893 Women’s Suffrage Petition, the literary papers of Katherine Mansfield, and the Edmund Hillary collection. You can see the full list of the inscriptions on the New Zealand Register

New Zealand Register
UNESCO recognition draws attention to the significance of documentary heritage and the institutions that are its custodians. Inscription on the register raises awareness of the custodian’s institutions and promotes the importance of caring for our documentary heritage.

Three-seater sofa

Louise from Thorndon

Made by Blanchetts and bought from Corso De’fiori . Long scroll arm sofa. 2140L , 950D, 840H. In excellent condition. Heartbroken to part with it - it won’t fit up the stairs in my new house. Very high quality manufacture. Seat cushions faded slightly when they were dry cleaned.

Metlink is introducing an Early Bird special (Off-Peak) bus fares concession trial from Monday 10 Feb.
The Early Bird special provides off-peak Snapper fares for Metlink bus services prior to 7am on working days. The Early Bird off-peak fare will be available for a trial period of four months from 10 February until 12 June 2020. Off-peak Snapper fares are 25% cheaper than normal Snapper fares.
The Early Bird special is an addition to existing off-peak fares, which already apply for Adult Snapper customers between 9am and 3pm and after 6.30pm on working days, and weekends.
What are we trying to achieve? We want to see if cheaper fares will encourage bus commuters to travel earlier in the day, when there is more capacity available on buses. Our ultimate aim is to spread demand over a wider period during the morning commute, and to relieve pressure on heavily used services in the peak period. That will lead to better services for all.
