For International Women’s Day 2023, we’re showcasing the voices and talents of women and gender diverse people in Aotearoa New Zealand. Join us at Fourth-Wave, a festival which aims to celebrate intersectionality and empower women through kōrero and performance.
Fourth-Wave will feature dance, comedy, poetry, music, plus a live recording of a panel for our Get Woke Wellington radio show and podcast. Finger food will be provided, and a cash bar will be available for the purchase of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles

I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.
