The Great Mid-Winter Christmas 'Date Night' - Fri 26 June 7 - 8.30pm at Gateway Baptist Church, 33 Park Rd, Miramar
The local churches on the Miramar Peninsula are working together to host a 'Mid-Winter Christmas' extravaganza featuring 12 days of activities and events to light up the neighborhood. Each day there are suggested activities for children, adults and families focused on a theme based on the traditional Christian Christmas calendar. On the 6th day of Christmas (Fri 26 June), we remember St Egwin of Worcester who was known as a leader who insisted on marital morality. So it's a chance for us to consider the ways the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted marriages and relationships in our community. The recent lockdown, job insecurity, and redundancies have all brought new stresses to our homes.
The combined churches are putting on a free 'Date Night' with coffee and dessert night for couples, along with free childcare and activities (children must be between 3 & 12 years old). The event is being hosted by Gateway Baptist Church at 33 Park Road from 7 pm - 8:30 pm. Numbers are limited to the first 25 couples so be in quick! Register on the website.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
