Kahutara Primary School in Featherston is switching to LEDs. All LEDs are Gen Less bulbs as they use less energy, which ultimately helps halt climate change. If we all got on board and switched now it would make a huge difference

Some children were terrorised by a group of boys (Senior college students) driving around in a black suzuki swift car with green trim and spinning green wheel caps, throwing eggs at some of the kids walking around doing trick a treating yesterday evening, chasing kids in their car whom retreated to a nearby school waiting till they left. If you know whom I am talking about and they are related to you - please advise them it is not good to do that, it is assault - three girls were injured, one with an sprained ankle, another with chest and shoulder - because of the speed of the car, and the impact of the throw it was painful and bruising. One of the boys spoke Samoan to the children and it will be taken as a complaint to the authorities.

For the month of November, we want to raise awareness and work together to end all forms of violence including family harm, elder and child abuse, sexual assault, gang violence, and more. These victimisations affect us all and can have lasting effects that spill into our everyday lives including at work and school.
To do your part this month, perhaps consider supporting a women’s refuge or work with Police in your area to host an info night on how to identify elder or child abuse in your community. This month’s campaign also coincides with White Ribbon Day on 25 November which is an internationally celebrated day that aims to prevent violence towards women.
Let us know how you’re spreading the ‘It’s Not OK’ message in your home or in your community by tagging us in your posts + using the following hashtag so we can see what you get up to:
