This month is all about supporting our young people, to encourage and empower them to not only be the change-makers and community builders of tomorrow but also the best versions of themselves. To listen to their perspective and remember that it’s not just about what we can teach them, but what lessons they can teach us. After all, the recipe for creating healthy, happy children includes a lot of the same ingredients for building safer, more resilient and connected communities.
Want to share your thoughts?

Work is about to start on the Omāroro pipeline, an important part of the project, constructing a new pipeline corridor along Wallace Street that will connect the Omāroro Reservoir to the existing water supply.
This work will also allow us to renew local water supply pipes, stormwater pipes and sewer pipes in the area.
You’re invited to a sausage sizzle!
Come along and meet representatives of Brian Perry Civil and their partners in the project, the contractors who will be working on the pipeline.
It’s just a friendly gathering, an opportunity to get to know the team who will be working in your community over the next year or so.
Some of Wellington Water’s key project team members will also be there.
We’re putting on some simple kai. All you need to do is turn up. We’d love to see you there.

3. From a guitar tuner app on your phone.
Getting use to tuning from another instrument is really good for your ear. If your guitar is a long way out of tune a guitar tuner app might not work so well for you.
If one of your strings is out of tune you can use the string above to tune it. For example if your A string is out of tune then you can play the 5th fret along your low E string (which is an A) to find the correct pitch. Hum each note to find out if the out of tune A string is higher or lower and then tune it.
It is handy to have a guitar teacher to take you through this process over a period of time as it is not easy at first. Be patient and good luck :)
