Book returned to Newtown Library after 118 years
The Earl of Derby by George Saintsbury was borrowed from the Newtown Library in March 1902. Having been found in Sydney, it has finally been returned 118 years later.
Library staff have seen reason, and the penny a day fine - it has been more than 43,000 days since the book was loaned since - has been waived.
Anyone else out there guilty of having library books stashed away in their shelves?
