Do you want to help people affected by cancer?

Ione Slater from Cancer Society NZ - Wellington Division

We’re on the lookout for volunteers to become Oncology Hosts at Wellington Hospital and/or Kenepuru Hospital.

What’s an Oncology Host? They provide people with help and support to give them the most positive experience possible during their assessments, treatment and follow-up appointments.

In this role being compassionate and organised is key, but you will also have that extra ‘sixth sense’ and will know how to offer the right help at the right time; whether that’s a reassuring welcome, a well-timed cup of tea and chat, or helping clients connect with the right medical professional.

If this sounds like you, please get in touch! 💛

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
