The City to Sea Bridge has been barriered off today!
I am absolutely furious at the City Council’s actions in barriering off the City to Sea Bridge today. The case to demolish this bridge is far from proven. This is high-handed in the extreme, and a shameful action based on a misguided, ill-informed and ideologically-driven decision.
I am discussing a possible major protest meeting with Helene Ritchie, Chair of the Civic Trust. Watch this space and please be prepared to show your support for those of us who oppose the summary demolition of this bridge.

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
