Temporary debit/credit card problems with pay-and-display machines in Wellington’s CBD
About 160 pay-and-display parking machines in the CBD have been put out of action after people have attempted to pay for parking using new ANZ debit cards that feature raised ‘braille’ dots. We're asking people not to use debit/credit cards in the machines while we work on upgrading the card readers to fix this issue. In the meantime, you can pay by cash, Snapper, smartphone parking apps (PayMyPark and Phone2Park), Text-a-Park or call 04 499 4444 to make a payment over the phone. More info.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles
Merry Christmas -
I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.
Best wishes - Michael
